Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

Frassati Catholic Academy Trust (FCAT) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The Policy is followed by FCAT and all its schools, pre-schools and nurseries to safeguard and promote the welfare of our children.

Everyone employed by Frassati Catholic Academy Trust has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in their care. Each school will fulfil their statutory safeguarding responsibilities as referenced in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE 2021)and the FCAT Safeguarding Policy. Copies of the policy are available at each school office or via the website.

Every school will endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. All FCAT staff are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice. Should you have concerns about the welfare of a child within one of our schools then please refer this to a member of the school’s safeguarding team.

All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) ensure that they are aware of the school’s child protection policy and procedures. Every member of staff must attend training, to which governors and volunteers are also invited.

The best interests of the children will always be our priority. As such, there are times in which we will need to record, monitor and share information with other agencies. We will share concerns about our pupils with the child’s parents/guardians unless we have reason to believe that such a move would not be in the child’s best interests.
